We made a dead hedge!

🪵We don’t just do plants, we’re also all about providing habitat & bringing a natural, cottagey look to the gardens we work on. Proof that having a wildlife friendly garden doesn’t mean an out of control wild space.

🪲This was a request from a customer to keep their toddler safe from the wildlife pond on the other side, but it doubles up as a huge insect hotel – more of an insect city! It was made using waste wood from another customer’s hedge cutting in autumn – we try to recycle materials wheverer we can & put them to good use.

🐞If you want to add more habitat to your garden you could consider:

👉A log pile – these provide a home to insects, toads, newts and bees.

👉Water – even just a small bowl can provide drinking water for birds & small mammals like hedgehogs.

👉A stone pile – Mice, voles, spiders, amphibians & beetles all make their home in dry stone walls or rock piles.
